I first met Angela at a reception at Port Royal on the opening night of an IUCN meeting in Kingston, Jamaica around the mid-eighties. During the meeting, in many of her eloquent contributions, I first heard the word 'problematique' - it was one of her favourite words and it's now part of my vocabulary. As a professional colleague and personal friend, Angela embodied Trinbagonianess, Caribbeaness, Womanhood, Friendship and Defender of our planet that I had the personal privilege of experiencing, some in moments, others in longer sharings. Each encounter left an indelible mark in my memory - her voice, her eloquence and diction, her passion, her smile, her humility, her grief, her inner and outer beauty, her dreams! Her caring and love for my family and I left a lasting memory with us. Words cannot express what we feel for Angela, and the world can't thank her enough for her gift. She will live on and through my family and I for the rest of our lives. I know she will live on and through many, many of her colleagues and friends all over the world. May we all re-commit to continue all her hard work to make our Mother Earth a better place and its inhabitants more peaceful and wholesome. That was her dream! Rest In Peace, Angela. You were truly a good and faithful servant to mankind! - Richard Laydoo and family. November 14, 2012.
