Although I never met Mrs. Cropper, as a participant in the Cropper Foundation Caribbean Writers Workshop I heard stories about Mrs. Cropper's wonderful spirit and remarkable life. Everyone who knew her spoke so highly of her. Because of her generosity and vision, Caribbean writers like myself have been able to participate in something special. So much good has come out of the Cropper Foundation writers workshops. I owe a debt to this lady whose life inspires and is an example to me. My sincere condolences to the Cropper family. I'll be praying for everyone who knew and loved Mrs. Cropper to find comfort in memories and strength in this time of grief.
